The Branding Process

Weeks 1 - 2

Research

I learn everything there is to know about your company.

I need to know your goals, vision, product, process, problems, struggles, everything. I can’t build a visual identity for a company that I don’t know, so my job is to understand your company like it’s my own.

I’ll summarize everything I’ve learned and the potential opportunities I see into a written overview. We’ll look at this together and if we’re on the same page, we’ll move forward.

Weeks 3 - 5

Design & Development

This is where the fun starts. During this stage, I’m taking everything we’ve learned from the research phase and making something out of it. I’m using your goals, problems, vision, and struggles to build a visual identity that serves you.

In this stage I’m using the research to decide on brand fonts, colors, voice, textures, symbols, elements, and perhaps most importantly, your logo.

Weeks 6 - 7

Delivery & Revisions

This is your brand, not mine. You need to have something that solves your problems, but also brings you joy. You need something you can brag about. Because of this, I think the revision rounds are the most important steps of the entire process.

We’ll go through four rounds of revisions as part of the package. Let’s land on something that works.

Week 8+

Implementation

This is the most critical step for sure. No matter how good the design work is, if it’s implemented poorly, it’s not going to help you. For 6 months after your branding session, I’m going to stick around to make sure your brand is implemented in the most effective way.

During this period, I’m your dedicated designer. For every single thing you need, you’ll let me know through the client portal and I’ll have work back to you usually within 48 hours.
